Miracles in Slovakia

In 2004 we were able to partner with our church in Czech Republic and launch a dynamic couple into Slovakia. Emil and Iveta Adam were already feeling the call of God to go into Slovakia and it was time to put a church in the midst of this thriving Gypsy community in the eastern part of the country.

The Gypsy people have long been despised in many parts of the world. They continue to feel the resentment of people in Slovakia, but they have been embraced by Pastor Emil, Pastor Oskar and now many Slovak men and women also show their love and support by worshipping alongside the Gypsy people.

For many months prior to planting this church, teams of musicians, singers, and disciples would make the 5 hour journey from Ostrava, Czech Republic to Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia, in order to see people saved. There were no Christian churches. No one was making music that told about Jesus. There were no tracts being passed out. No crusades or door-to-door evangelism teams. The church in Ostrava made a worship cd with testimonies and an altar call in the gypsy language and began distributing them at the outreaches. People started getting saved, and calling pastor Oskar and asking when the team would be coming again.

The rest is history. Today, 5 years later, that church has grown to fill a city auditorium. They have rented a building in the nearby city of Poprad that is exclusively theirs and is used seven days a week for church events. It is no longer a church that reaches only gypsies. Many people from all walks of life are getting saved and there is such a rich atmosphere of the Spirit of God in that place.

The conference in May of 2010 was a huge success thanks to the many prayers and continued support of our fellowship. Two new churches were launched on the final day of the conference, one into eastern Slovakia and another into England. Praise God!!!
